Our Top 5 Celebrity Cooking Shows – Baseball’s Out, Baking Is In

Celebrity cooking shows are now the bomb, and it seems during these stormy times America has replaced our national pastime of baseball with baking.

Warming up a Dodger Dog on a space heater doesn’t count as cooking, for those of you who still have your head locked into baseball.

We’ve recently seen an influx of granny’s secret recipes exposed through nearly every A-lister Instagram account, with no end to the madness.

That’s good news to foodies like us, in fact, we poached Jessica Alba’s avocado toast recipe and we’re not sorry. Apparently, she’s just as good at cooking as she is with her beauty products.

Curtis Stone

Beach Eats USA – Foodnetwork

No stranger to TV, Aussie top chef Curtis Stone seems to be all over the place these days, and we’re not complaining.

Constantly re-inventing himself, Curtis has a line of cookbooks, and cookware, and has been on nearly every imaginable cooking show including Bravo’s Top Chef Masters, and the Food Network’s Iron Chef America.

Curtis was even appointed as an ambassador for Cottage by the Sea in 2011, which helps the Australian charity raise funds to provide short holidays for disadvantaged children.

It would be hard for any Australian to wander too far from the beach and Curtis’ show, Beach Eats USA,  flushes out the best beach spots in America that serve fresh dishes along with spectacular seaside views.

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg

Martha & Snoop’s Pot Luck Party Challenge – VH1

Could this be the new Dynamic Duo? We had our reservations about Snoop Dogg taking cooking seriously but for this King of The Munchies, it actually all makes sense. We found the perfect recipe for celebrity cooking shows that promise to entertain.

With trusted lifestyle expert Martha Stewart keeping things under control, it turns out these two together are absolutely electrifying. They’ve even been nominated for MTV’s Movie Award for Best On-Screen Duo.

Snoop’s been also cookin’ up a storm with his Bitcoin investments. Hey, you can never have your hand in too many pots. I’m sure there’s a pun here we’re missing.

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg are going head to head in the kitchen, joined by celebrity teammates and judges, as the duo battles it out for the Potluck Party Platter prize in themed culinary challenges.

Season 4 has been renewed so we’ll anxiously be waiting to see if that smoke is really coming from a burnt roast.

So can a soccer pro really pull off a celebrity cooking show? The easy answer is yes, especially when one of your closest friends is Michelin-starred Gordon Ramsey.

Broadcasters are actively seeking pro sports figures for TV series now that these have an undeniable track record for success, and David’s already geared up to rock the kitchen through his own production company, Studio 99. Until production ramps up, you can follow David on his Instagram food stories.

Jon Favreau & Roy Choi

The Chef Show – Netflix

Iron Man director and writer/producer Jon Favreau hooked up with food truck king Roy Choi to create The Chef Show, another match made in heaven.

Food truck concept for celebrity cooking shows

Jon met Roy Choi during the filming of Favreau’s movie Chef, where Choi was a consultant. In The Chef Show, Jon and Roy explore just how much fun it can be to cook with friends.

The concept works at so many levels, as they say in Hollywood. “Put on the camera, get some food, start cooking, invite some friends over, and let’s see where it goes,” explained Choi.

Food trucks are quintessential for spur-of-the-moment dining, and that’s been the hook for Roy’s Kogi food truck success. This show is also about being spontaneous with your friends. So turn on the telly, enjoy the journey, and see where these celebrity cooking shows take you.
